Hireback season is upon the legal profession. Many hireback decisions haven’t been made just yet…which is why I think it’s prime time for articling students to get organized and prepared for their next steps, whatever they may be.

I recently spoke about goal-setting with a group of career-minded lawyers at the Ontario Bar Association. While 100% of the group said planning ahead was valuable, only 37% of them had a career plan.

My last article helped associates to prepare for their evaluations. This is a follow-up to "'E' is for Taking the Frustration out of Associate 'Evaluations'."

Associates, before you go on holidays, I want you to start thinking about your upcoming evaluations… Not as a reason to stress you out, but as a gentle reminder that you will feel frustrated with yourself if you leave this meeting to chance.
